What role does each law of Physics play in the working of Roller Coasters???
So we've "heard" that Newton's Laws and the Laws of Energy and Momentum have a role to play in the working of a roller coaster. In the webercise, you've experimented with the different parameters of force, acceleration, gravity, mass, weight, friction, momentum, kinetic energy and potential energy to see how they impact the working of a roller coaster. The question is :
What do the Laws of Physics have to do with these parameters ???
So let's take a closer look.
To do this, you will work on the graphic organizer that was handed out in class.
I have provided an example below.
Your job is to fill out each component of the graphic organizer by inserting small diagrams and then solving problems related to each law of physics.
To help you with your problem solving, refer to the following links :

INSTRUCTIONS:
(Each component of the graphic organizer explains what you need to do.)
EACH PINK CIRCLE REPRESENTS ONE OF THE LAWS OF PHYSICS THAT WE STUDIED IN THIS UNIT.
EACH GREEN RECTANGLE EXPLAINS A DIAGRAM/ DRAWING / PICTURE THAT YOU NEED TO INSERT.
EACH YELLOW RECTANGLE EXPLAINS THE PROBLEM(S) THAT YOU NEED TO SOLVE.
THE SHADED GREEN RECTANGLES ARE WHERE YOU WILL RECORD YOUR ANSWERS.

Important Note about section for Newton's Second Law :
--For the section on Newton's Second Law, insert your own values for acceleration and mass.
DO NOT USE THE SAMPLE VALUES GIVEN . YOU WILL GET ZERO MARKS IF YOU DO.
---For mass, you can use your own weight, calculate your mass and insert that value.
---For acceleration, you can use the values from your webercise simulation or worksheet.
-- If you are still unsure see me in class or email me, and I will give you suggested values for acceleration.
Any Other QUESTIONS????
PLEASE email me, or ask me in class. I would prefer that you ask me if you have any questions, rather than attempt to work on the graphic organizer if you are unclear about anything.
